God the Source of Hope, Joy, and Peace
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Romans 15:13 (NLT)
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Reflection
Without God, there truly is no lasting hope. Romans 15:13 reminds us that He is the source of hope—not our circumstances, not our plans, not even other people. And from this deep, unshakable hope springs joy and peace, the kind that carries us through even the darkest days.
Earlier in this chapter, we’re reminded of what life looked like before Christ—broken, lost, and without direction. But our God, the God of hope, didn’t leave us there. Through the gospel, He reached into our hopeless state and gave us something more than survival—He gave us meaning, purpose, and a future.
I’ve had days when I couldn’t imagine what tomorrow would look like. Days when hopelessness felt like the most familiar emotion. I understand what it’s like to live without real meaning—just going through the motions and living for self. But I can also say that when I put my trust in God, something shifted. That’s when the Christian hope and joy that Paul speaks about began to take root in me.
Even now, we may still face days that feel heavy and uncertain. But because of the Holy Spirit, we are not left that way. God the source of hope continues to renew our hope and fill us with His peace and joy, one day at a time. And as hope grows, it doesn’t stay quiet—it overflows. It shapes our mindset, steadies our emotions, and directs our steps.
Today's Prayer
God of hope, thank You for not leaving me in my hopelessness. Thank You for filling me with a hope that leads to joy and peace. When I’m tempted to give in to fear or despair, remind me of who You are and what You’ve done. Let Your Spirit continue to overflow hope in me today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Before You Go
Maybe you’re facing something right now that feels too big, too uncertain, or too broken. Let this verse remind you: God is the source of your hope. Not the answer to your problem, not the outcome you’re waiting for—but God Himself.
Today, invite Him into the heavy places. Ask Him to fill you again with Christian hope and joy. You may not feel it immediately, but His Spirit is already at work, stirring up a hope that leads to peace and steady joy—even here.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
