Wait On The Lord

Psalm 130:5 I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

In the midst of life's challenges, waiting on the Lord may seem difficult, but it is in these very moments that our faith is refined, and extraordinary blessings await us.

Have you ever found yourself in a place of waiting? Maybe you were eagerly anticipating the arrival of a long-awaited package or the reunion with a loved one. Waiting can be difficult and frustrating, especially when we are unsure of when or how our expectations will be met.

But as King David reminds us in Psalm 130:5-6, waiting on the Lord is not just a passive act of stillness.  He compared his anticipation to those who wait for the morning after a long night shift. If you've ever worked an overnight job, you know the feeling of waiting for the sun to come up and signal the end of your shift. That's the kind of hope and expectation David had for the Lord.

When we place our trust in God and His promises, we can look forward with anticipation and confidence, even in the midst of life's uncertainties.

The truth is, life can be a roller coaster ride, with unexpected twists and turns that shake us up and leave us feeling disoriented. But when we anchor our hearts and minds on the hope of God's promises, we can find a sense of peace and security that transcends our circumstances.

One of the verses that captures this hope is Titus 2:13, which speaks of our "blessed hope" in the glorious appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ. As we wait patiently for His return, let's make this our banner and our focus - the hope that anchors us through the ups and downs of life, and the promise that gives us the courage to keep pressing on.
