God Has Not Forgotten You

When You Feel Forgotten
Have you ever felt alone and wondered if God has forgotten you?
I have felt that way before. There have been moments when the weight of loneliness settled in, and I questioned whether God was still listening. When prayers seemed to go unanswered and struggles lasted longer than I expected, it became easy to feel overlooked.
Maybe you have felt that too.
I remember praying deeply, pouring everything out before God and asking Him to move. I wanted to see change. I wanted to feel His presence more clearly. But the situation did not shift right away. The difficulty lingered, and it felt like one wave after another kept coming.
In those moments, it is easy to wonder if God has forgotten.
A Devotional on Has God Forgotten
In Psalm 77:9, the psalmist asks a question many of us have thought:
Has God forgotten to be gracious?
There is something comforting about that honesty. It reminds us that even those who trusted God wrestled with these same thoughts. We are not alone in this.
When we are in the middle of difficult seasons, our circumstances can feel overwhelming. They become so loud that they drown out everything else. It can feel like there is no clear end in sight.
But this is where we have to gently shift our focus.
Remembering His Faithfulness
I have learned that in those moments, it helps to remember what God has already done. I think about how He brought the children of Israel out of bondage, made a way where there seemed to be none, and remained faithful even when they struggled to trust Him.
Then I think about my own life. The times He provided. The times He carried me through situations I thought I would not make it through.
Remembering those things helps quiet the feeling that I have been forgotten.
God Will Not Forget You
Isaiah 49:15 always makes me stop for a moment.
It brings up a question that feels almost impossible. Can a mother forget her child? That kind of love is one of the strongest we know. And yet God says even if that were to happen, He still would not forget us.
That does something to me when I really think about it.
Because if I am honest, there have been times when I felt forgotten. Not because God said He forgot me, but because of what I was going through.
But this verse reminds me that what I feel and what is true are not always the same.
God has not forgotten me. And He has not forgotten you either.
Hold On to What Is True
If you are in a season where you feel unseen or unheard, I want to gently remind you of this.
God has not forgotten you.
Even if things have not changed yet. Even if the waiting feels longer than you expected. Even if it is quiet right now.
He still sees you.
He still hears you.
And He still knows exactly where you are.
Sometimes that is what we have to hold on to. Not what we see, but what we know is true.
