Wisdom Builds the House
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
— Proverbs 24:3–4 (KJV)
Reflection
A few years ago, I visited a historic home. It was beautiful. The home, the grounds, the quietness of it all made me sit and take it in. I remember sitting on a bench in front of it and thinking, is this how it looked over 250 years ago? How in the world has it not crumbled or fallen apart?
Like any home today, it had to have a good foundation. I do not care how beautiful the design is or how many expensive knickknacks you place inside. If the foundation is not strong, the house will fall. It cannot stand long without something solid beneath it.
That is true physically and spiritually.
A home that lacks wisdom may still be standing, but it is not truly built. It is fragile, shaky, and exposed. The same goes for any faith that is not built on the Lord. It may look good on the outside. It may be filled with decorations and even have visitors. But if God is not the builder, it is just a shell waiting to fall.
Proverbs tells us that wisdom builds the house. Not just wisdom from books or experiences, but wisdom that comes from God. Jesus is that wisdom. When our home is built on Him, it is stable. It can weather storms. It will not roll away like a house on wheels that never knew its destination.
When you are built on the wisdom of God, your life has a sure footing. Your faith is not easily shaken. Your relationships are anchored in truth. And your peace is not tied to outward things, but to the One who never moves.
God is not only interested in building lives. He wants to build households, legacies, and families that stand. And He gives us what we need to fill those homes with beauty, joy, and peace that lasts.
Let Him be the builder. Let wisdom guide the plans.
Today's Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my sure foundation. I do not want to build anything in my life without You. Give me Your wisdom, the kind that builds what will last. Fill my heart, my home, and my mind with Your understanding. Help me walk in the kind of faith that stands firm when everything else shifts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Before You Go
A beautiful home without a strong foundation is just a shell. The same is true of our lives and families. When we build on the wisdom of God, we are building on something that will not fall.
Take a moment to reflect:
What is your home or life built on right now?
Are you leaning on your own wisdom or seeking God’s?
How do you invite God’s wisdom into your daily decisions?
What would a home built on the wisdom of God look like in your life?
Let every room in your life be built by the Lord.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
