Let’s Talk About It
College life can bring a lot of distractions. When you're surrounded by people, there are so many voices and worldviews pulling at you, each one trying to influence your thoughts and decisions. But even when you're in the middle of a crowd, you can still feel alone. It’s easy to fall into the trap of people-pleasing when there’s no one there to hold you accountable, especially without a parent nearby to guide you.
The pressure to fit in or live up to expectations can feel heavy, and with no accountability, it can be tempting to compromise on your values. You may even find yourself wondering if standing firm in your faith is worth it when everyone else seems to be doing their own thing. But God promises to give us strength, not just for the easy moments but for the challenging ones too. His strength allows us to make the right choices, stay true to who we are, and be bold in our faith, even when we feel like the only ones.
Prayer for College Student
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being my strength in every moment. College can be overwhelming, with so many distractions and pressures all around me. I ask that You help me to stand strong in my faith, not swayed by the opinions of others. When I feel alone or tempted to please people, remind me that my identity is found in You alone. Help me to focus on what You’ve called me to do, to seek Your approval above all else.
Give me the courage to resist the temptation to compromise and the strength to live boldly for You, no matter who’s around. Fill me with Your peace, knowing that You are with me every step of the way.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Keep This in Mind
