Trusting That God Works All Things for Good
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Romans 8:28 (ESV):
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Reflection
Life doesn’t always look good from our limited perspective. Disappointment, delays, and even deep pain can leave us asking, “Why, God?” But Romans 8:28 offers a powerful promise—God works all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
This verse doesn’t say that all things are good. Some things hurt. Some things break us down. But nothing is wasted in God’s hands. Through the wisdom and sovereignty of our Father, even our suffering is woven into His redemptive plan.
Sometimes trusting God is hardest when we can’t see the outcome or don’t understand the plan. But even then, He is working to make us holy—spotless and without blemish before Him. The fruit of the Spirit is being formed in us, often through trials we wouldn’t choose, but that He uses for our good.
I’ve had moments where I couldn’t see the good at all. Maybe you’ve been there too—when everything feels wrong and your prayers seem unanswered. But the truth stands: God works all things for good. His goodness isn't limited by what we see in the moment.
And while we may not understand His timing, we can trust Him. Our pain isn’t pointless. Our waiting isn’t empty. God is at work, even when we don’t feel it. He’s crafting something eternally valuable, shaping us to look more like Jesus.
Today's Prayer
Father, thank You for being a God who never wastes a moment. Even when I don’t understand what You’re doing, help me trust that You are working all things for my good. Strengthen my faith to believe in Your purpose and to walk by faith, not by sight. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Before You Go
Have you ever looked back at a painful season and realized God was working through it all along? It didn’t make sense at the time, but later, you saw the growth, the strength, and the spiritual maturity that came from it.
That’s what it means to trust that God works all things for good—even when it’s hard, even when it hurts. Maybe you’re in one of those seasons right now. You don’t have to pretend it feels good—but you can rest in the truth that God is using it for good.
Hold on to His promise. Keep walking. And know that your story is still being written by a faithful and loving God.
