Walking in Obedience Daily: Choosing God’s Way When It’s Not Easy
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

John 14:23 (KJV) – “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
Like a child who wants to do what pleases them, I’ve had moments when choosing my will and my ways led me down paths that weren’t good for me. The decisions felt right in the moment—comfortable, familiar, even justifiable. But looking back, they brought consequences that left me feeling empty and disappointed. That’s why walking in obedience daily is so vital.
Obedience isn’t about following rules out of fear or earning favor. It’s about love. Jesus said that if we love Him, we’ll keep His commandments—not out of duty, but out of devotion. Every act of obedience is an act of trust. It’s saying, God, I believe Your way is better—even when I don’t understand it right now.
God doesn’t ask us to obey in our own strength. He gives us His Spirit to guide us, convict us, and empower us to live in a way that pleases Him. When we choose obedience, even in the small things, we are aligning our lives with His purpose. And that alignment leads to peace, protection, and a deeper intimacy with Him.
Obedience isn’t always easy—but it is always worth it.
A Prayer for Today:
Lord, help me to choose Your will over my own. Forgive the times I’ve gone my own way, thinking I knew best. I want to walk in step with You—one decision, one day at a time. Give me a heart that desires Your ways and the courage to follow even when it’s hard. Thank You for Your mercy, and thank You for never giving up on me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
