Walk in Wisdom: It Is Not Too Late
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Proverbs 4:11–13 (KJV)
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
Reflection
I was sitting in my comfortable chair the other morning, a blanket warming my legs on a brisk, quiet day, when memories from years past came to mind. I began thinking about how foolish and rebellious I once was. I thought about the times I could have listened, could have heeded, could have taken hold of wisdom sooner. Maybe some things would look different now.
But life is not like a television show that travels back in time to erase old scenes. We cannot return and rewrite those days. Yet even in that realization, there is hope. God does not call us to live in regret. He calls us to walk in wisdom today.
Proverbs tells us that the Lord teaches us in the way of wisdom and leads us in right paths. That means we are not left alone to figure it out after our mistakes. When we choose now to walk in wisdom, He guides our steps. The past may hold memories, but it does not have to hold our direction.
You might have had seasons like that too, years of going your own way, with flashes of memories that still come to mind. But those days are behind you. Today is the day to take fast hold of instruction. Today is the day to listen closely to the Lord. Today is the day to walk in wisdom.
God is merciful. He is patient. He teaches, leads, and steadies our steps, even after we have wandered. When we hold on to His instruction, it becomes life to us right where we are.
Today's Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your patience and mercy. Thank You that even when I have gone my own way, You still teach me the way of wisdom. Help me not to live in regret over the past, but to take fast hold of Your instruction today. Lead me in right paths and steady my steps as I choose to walk in wisdom with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Before You Go
You cannot change yesterday, but you can choose obedience today. And you do not walk this path alone. Jesus did not just save you and leave you to figure life out by yourself. He is your Shepherd, and He still leads His people in right paths.
Through His Word, Jesus shows us truth. Through the Holy Spirit, He gently corrects, teaches, and reminds us of what is right. When you feel that nudge to turn away from something, to listen more closely, or to do what honors God, that is His loving guidance at work.
Wisdom is not only instruction on a page. It is a life led by Christ. As you take hold of what God is teaching you now, trust that the Lord Himself is guiding your steps. The Holy Spirit helps you walk in wisdom in real, daily decisions.
Today is not about reliving the past. It is about following Jesus now. He is faithful to lead you forward.
