The Beauty of Bringing Good News and Peace to the World
Isaiah 52:7 (KJV) How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
Romans 10:15 (KJV) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
How beautiful is the message of the gospel! Isaiah 52:7 paints a powerful image of those who carry good news, and Romans 10:15 echoes this sentiment, reminding us of the joy that comes with sharing the gospel of peace. It is truly amazing how far-reaching the gospel message has gone, not just by foot but now through digital means. However, it all began with Jesus, whose feet walked the land, spreading the good news of salvation. How beautiful His feet must have been, carrying hope to the world.
For me, the message first came through the loving hearts of a friend’s parents who shared the gospel with us children. I also heard it at churches I visited with neighbors, and later, as a young girl attending church with my mom, I finally understood. The gospel of Jesus Christ, who reconciles us to God and saves us from the coming wrath, is truly life-changing. This is not just a peace that exists between men; although the gospel message changes us to live peacefully with others, it brings us tranquility. We also have peace with ourselves, knowing that through Jesus Christ, we have security and assurance of salvation. Finally, we have peace with God, being reconciled by the death of His Son and justified by Jesus’s blood, which allows us to escape His coming wrath. That is a reason to shout right now! The gospel of peace is the good news.
May we never forget this truth, clinging to it and proclaiming it boldly, for it is the power of God for salvation. Let's pray for the strength to share this good news with others, knowing how beautiful are the feet of those who bring it.
