Jesus Will Fill You

Today's Scripture
Mark 6:42 (KJV)
“And they did all eat, and were filled.”
Reflection
There are many things we all share in common, no matter our location, status in life, or gender, but one of the most universal needs is the need to eat. It’s not optional. If you don’t eat, you die.
Hunger pangs are the body’s way of ringing the alarm. It’s the signal that you need nourishment. But how often do we ignore it? Whether from busyness or deep focus, sometimes we press through and delay feeding ourselves. I’ve definitely done it. And when I finally sit down to eat, just a nibble isn’t enough. My body craves more. I need something that satisfies.
So when I read this verse, I find it amazing that it doesn’t stop at saying they all ate. It says they were filled.
Jesus didn’t just give them a small bite to take the edge off. He satisfied their hunger. Completely.
The crowd that day numbered over five thousand, not including women and children. They were tired, hungry, and in a remote place. And Jesus took what little was offered, five loaves and two fish, and not only multiplied it, but made sure that every person was satisfied.
That’s the kind of Savior He is.
But isn’t it the same with us spiritually? Jesus doesn’t only care about our physical needs. He is the Bread of Life, and He alone can satisfy our spiritual hunger and satisfaction for all of eternity. As it says in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
God knows your hunger, your need to be fed, sustained, and satisfied. And He offers Himself in abundance.
If you’re hungry today, come to Him. He’s not just enough, He’s more than enough.
Today's Prayer
Jesus, thank You for being the One who satisfies both my body and my soul. You don’t offer scraps. You give fullness. You fill what is empty and restore what is drained. Teach me to come to You when I hunger, not to distractions or temporary fixes. I want to be filled by You. In Your name I pray, Amen.
Before You Go
A bite of bread might quiet your stomach, but only Jesus can satisfy your soul. If you’re hungry today for peace, for righteousness, for clarity, He invites you to come and be filled.
Ask yourself: What am I reaching for when I feel spiritually empty?
Today, turn to the Bread of Life. He still satisfies and He still fills.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
