Spiritual Healing Through Jesus Opens My Eyes
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Luke 18:41–43 (KJV)
“Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.”
Reflection
This account of Jesus healing the blind man is amazing. Just to give a little context, the man couldn’t see, but he could hear. When he heard the commotion, he asked what was going on—and when they told him Jesus of Nazareth was passing by, he cried out, “Jesus, thou Son of David!” That name wasn’t casual. People used the name ‘Son of David’ to refer to the Messiah.
They say that when one sense is lost, the others become heightened. I imagine that’s what happened here. He was attuned to what others might miss. And when Jesus stopped and responded to his cry, He asked him, in my own words: “What do you want Me to do for you?” Jesus already knew the man was blind, but still, He asked—and all the man had to do was speak what he wanted.
This inspires me deeply. So often, I lift up the needs of others in prayer—and that's important—but I can neglect to bring my own needs and desires before the Lord. This moment encourages me to be honest and specific, knowing that Jesus cares and is willing to hear me.
Here’s the beauty—when the man received his sight, it was immediate. No delay. No hesitation. His response? He followed Jesus, glorifying God. And it caused others to give praise to God too.
Our own lives can reflect that same transformation. When we praise God openly and live in a way that glorifies Him, it has a ripple effect. People who once saw us blind—lost, broken, without hope—now see us whole, healed by the mercy of Christ. That kind of change draws others to Jesus.
Jesus gave him more than a physical healing. Yes, his eyes were opened, but so was his heart. He went from calling Jesus “Son of David,” to treating Him as more than just the Messiah in flesh—Jesus became the Savior of his soul. That’s the power of spiritual healing through Jesus.
That’s exactly how I see myself. I was once blind, spiritually speaking. Jesus was just a name in a story, a figure from Christmas plays. But when He opened my eyes, I began to see Him clearly—not just as someone who did great things, but as my Redeemer, my Lord, my Savior. He brought spiritual healing I didn’t even realize I needed.
Before You Go
Think back—can you remember when you were the blind one, the one lost in darkness? Praise God that He didn’t leave you there. Through spiritual healing in Jesus, He opened your eyes and gave you a new path to walk.
But also, take a look around. There are people in your life right now—friends, family, even strangers—who are still that lost sheep, still crying out without knowing where their help comes from. Let your life reflect the healing power of Jesus. Allow your joy and transformation be a testimony that leads them to the same hope you’ve found. You’ve been healed—and now you carry light.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
