Blessed Beyond What We Can See

Today's Scripture
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
— Ephesians 1:3 (KJV)
Reflection
I have an admission to make. Sometimes I let my earthly situations overshadow me. This scripture today feels so on time for me. As I was in my morning readings, I came across where Jesus speaks about the care of the Father, how He provides for the birds of the air and clothes the fields of grass. (Matthew 6:26–30) If God cares so deeply for them, surely He will supply our needs as well, since we are valued by Him.
That led me to thinking about blessings. Often, my thoughts go straight to physical blessings here on earth. Needs met. Prayers answered in ways I can see and touch. But sometimes those needs and desires overshadow the truth of our spiritual blessings in Christ. We are surrounded by things that feel urgent and pressing, and it becomes easy to lose sight of what God has already given us.
There are many earthly blessings we receive and enjoy, but they are limited and often fleeting. Money can be lost, stolen, or spent. Possessions wear out. Everything in this world will one day pass away and have no lasting value. Paul praised the Ephesians for their faith and love for the saints, yet he still reminded them of the greater blessings they possessed. (Ephesians 1:15–16) It is easy, even for faithful believers, to become short sighted when daily life presses in.
What makes our spiritual blessings so remarkable is that they were not an afterthought. Scripture tells us these blessings were secured before the foundation of the world. They are not earned, negotiated, or partially given. In Christ, we receive all of them. Forgiveness. Redemption. Adoption. Grace. Hope. These blessings are complete, eternal, and secure because of what Jesus Christ accomplished on our behalf.
Christ made this possible through His obedience, His sacrifice, and His victory. Our spiritual blessings are not fragile or temporary. They are anchored in Him. When life feels overwhelming and earthly concerns grow loud, this truth calls us back to a higher perspective.
So today, and moving forward, I want to remind myself of these spiritual blessings and not take them for granted. I praise God for His kindness and grace. I bless Him not only for what He gives me here and now, but for the immeasurable riches I have in Christ Jesus.

Today's Prayer
Father God, thank You for blessing me with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Help me when my focus drifts toward earthly concerns and temporary things. Remind my heart of what is eternal and secure in You. I praise You for Your grace, Your kindness, and the work of Jesus that made these blessings possible. Teach me to live with gratitude and confidence in what You have already given. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Before You Go
What has been occupying your thoughts lately, earthly concerns or eternal truths? Today, pause and reflect on what God has already done for you in Christ. Spiritual blessings are not distant or abstract. They shape how we live, how we endure, and how we hope. Let this truth steady your heart and lift your perspective. Praise God today, not only for what you can see, but for the eternal blessings that can never be taken away through Jesus Christ.
