A Day We Do Not Have to Fear
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.
— Joel 2:31 (KJV)
Reflection
If you turn on the news today, you will hear about every calamity taking place. Hurricanes. Floods. Riots. Earthquakes. And it is easy to be concerned and even afraid when you hear and see these things. But there is also another side.
For many, it is just another day. None of it seems real or relevant. They are far from it, untouched by it, and even unaware. There is no thought of the judgment of God or the day that is still to come.
This verse is one of the clearest signs of the last days in the Bible, and it is not meant to scare believers. It is a warning, yes, but it is also a reminder. These things we see and hear; unrest in the earth, confusion in the nations, are like contractions. They point to a day that is coming.
But for those of us in Christ, that day is not something we need to fear.
I love what verse 32 says. That whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered. That is hope. That is the promise. That is our anchor.
This day of the Lord will come, and it will shake everything that is not grounded in Him. But for those who belong to Him, it is the day of redemption. It is the day of deliverance. It is the day when our salvation will be complete, and we will be changed.
We should live with our eyes open, aware of what is happening around us. But more importantly, we should live with our hearts fixed on eternity. These signs are not meant to paralyze us with fear but to stir us to readiness, worship, and expectation.
The Lord has promised to save those who call on His name. So let this truth steady your heart. The world may shake, but God is faithful.
Today's Prayer
Father, thank You for the hope that You give in the middle of uncertainty. When the world feels like it is falling apart, help me to remember that You are still holding it all together. Remind me that I do not have to fear the day of the Lord, because You have already secured my salvation through Jesus. Help me to live with urgency, with joy, and with expectation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Before You Go
The signs of the last days are real, but so is the promise of salvation. Those who call on the name of the Lord will be delivered. That is not fear. That is freedom. That is our future.
Take a moment to reflect:
Do you feel overwhelmed by the events in the world?
How does the promise of verse 32 bring peace to your heart?
Are you living with hope and readiness, or with fear and uncertainty?
What can you do today to help someone else understand the hope we have in Christ?
Let every sign point your heart back to the Savior. He is coming, and we are His.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
