Recounting God’s Faithfulness with Daily Thanks

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. Psalms 9:1
Psalm 9:1 encourages us to offer thanks with our whole heart by recounting God’s faithfulness and wonderful deeds. Yet, in the busyness of everyday life, it’s easy to overlook the small but meaningful ways God shows His love and care for us.
For example, during my years of commuting to work—spending over four hours daily on the road—I didn’t always appreciate those moments at the time. However, looking back, I realize those quiet hours became a precious time to seek God and reflect on His guidance. Despite challenges like traffic reroutes and sudden storms, God’s protection was constant, and His lessons were clear.
Likewise, your life is filled with moments—big and small—where God’s faithfulness is present. By recounting God’s faithfulness regularly, we cultivate a heart of daily thanks, recognizing that He leads and sustains us through every season.
I’ve seen God’s faithfulness show up in countless ways—some quiet and daily, others bold and unforgettable. Whether it was a small moment of peace on a hard day or a clear answer to prayer, His goodness has walked with me. And when I look back, I don’t just see His hand in my life, but also in my family, my friends, and throughout Scripture. Recounting His wonderful deeds fills me with deep thanks—because His faithfulness hasn’t failed, and it never will.
So today, take a moment to reflect on your journey. What are the ways God has shown up for you recently? Even when the path seemed unclear, His faithfulness remains sure. Let daily thanks be your response to His enduring love.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the countless ways You’ve shown Your faithfulness. Help me not to forget Your goodness. Teach me to see Your hand, not just in the big moments, but in the everyday ones. As I recount Your wonderful deeds, fill me with joy and peace that overflows to others.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
