Nothing is Hidden from God

Today's Scripture
Hosea 7:2 NLT
They do not realize that I remember all their evil deeds. Now their sins surround them; they are before my very eyes.
Reflection
I’m a private person, and like most of us, I like to do things in private. When I work, I don’t like people peering over my shoulder. When I’m in the kitchen cooking, I don’t want someone all in my pot. Most of us don’t like the feeling of being in a fishbowl, being watched.
And although these are dark times, most people still prefer to do their sins in private, in the dark, unseen. Today, technology makes it almost impossible to hide, with cameras everywhere, even on our doorframes. But in Hosea 7:2, I see something I can relate to: even if there are no cameras, no one looking over my shoulder, God is always seeing. Nothing is hidden from God.
When I was lost in my sins, it was as if I was blind to that fact. Just like the people of Judea and Samaria, who openly sinned, worshiped false gods, and relied on others instead of the God they knew, who had taken them out of Egypt and performed great signs and miracles right before them. They acted as if no one was watching, yet God saw everything. They were blind to His presence, just as I was, just as many of us are.
Even more, God’s seeing is not passive. He sees the intentions behind our hearts, the secret longings, the choices we make when no one else is watching. He saw when they turned from Him to idols. He saw the sorrow and confusion that sin brought, and He still pursued them. They were never alone, and they were never hidden from Him.
This makes me pause and reflect. How often do I try to hide my heart, thinking no one notices? How often do I act as if God is blind to my struggles or mistakes? Hosea reminds me that God’s eyes are on us at all times, not to shame, but to know, to love, and to guide. Even when we are blind to Him, He is never blind to us. His desire is not condemnation. His desire is restoration. He calls us to see ourselves in the light of His care, even in the private, quiet, hidden corners of our lives.
Today's Prayer
Lord, thank You for always seeing me, even in the private corners of my life. Thank You for never leaving me hidden from Your eyes, even when I am blind to Your presence. Help me to recognize Your watchful care in every part of my life, in my secret longings, and in the choices I make when no one else is watching. Guide me away from sin, restore my heart, and help me walk in Your light, knowing that nothing is hidden from You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Before You Go
Are there areas of your life you are trying to hide, thinking no one sees? God sees. He is aware of your secret longings, your struggles, and the choices you make when no one else is watching. But He is not looking to condemn. He is watching to guide, restore, and love you. Remember that even in the quiet, private corners of your life, nothing is hidden from God. How can you respond to His care and presence right now?
