Living a Life of Integrity
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.”
Daniel 6:4 KJV
Reflection
Many people enjoy reading the book of Book of Daniel for its prophetic meaning, and that is certainly valuable. But when I read it, I often see something else that speaks just as loudly. I see the story of a God fearing and faithful man and his relationship with God through exile, pressure, and hardship.
Daniel lived in a foreign land, surrounded by people who did not worship the God of Israel. Yet his life consistently reflected faithfulness, humility, and trust in God. When I begin to drift off course or feel like I do not have the strength to walk faithfully, Daniel’s life reminds me that nothing is impossible with God.
It is easy to read Daniel 6:4 and think Daniel was somehow superhuman. The officials searched for a fault in him but could find none. At first glance it can seem as though Daniel achieved something that the rest of us cannot.
But when we read the whole account, we see something important. Daniel’s wisdom and ability were not things he created for himself. They were gifts that God gave him. God gave him understanding. God gave him favor. God gave him the ability to interpret dreams and serve wisely.
In many ways, God works the same way in our lives. The strength to live uprightly does not begin with us. Scripture reminds us that God works in us, shaping our desires and helping us walk in obedience.
Where Daniel truly shines is in his diligence toward God. He did not treat his relationship with God casually. He prayed regularly. He sought the Lord faithfully. Even when it became dangerous to do so, Daniel continued the same pattern of prayer and devotion that had shaped his life all along.
Living uprightly before God is not an impossible task reserved for a few extraordinary people. It begins with the work God is doing in us, and it grows as we cultivate that relationship through faithfulness, prayer, and obedience.
Daniel’s life reminds us that integrity is not built in a single moment. It is formed over time through a life that continually turns toward God.
Today's Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the example we see in the life of Daniel. In a difficult place and among people who did not honor You, he remained faithful. His life reminds us that integrity and devotion are possible because You are the One who strengthens us.
Lord, help me to walk with that same diligence in my relationship with You. Give me a heart that desires Your ways and seeks You regularly in prayer. When I feel weak, remind me that the strength to live uprightly does not come from me, but from You working within me.
Thank You for Jesus Christ, who lived a perfectly righteous life and showed us what true obedience looks like. Through Him, I have forgiveness, new life, and the power to grow in faithfulness. Shape my life so that it reflects His character more each day.
Help me to be faithful in both the small and the great moments of life, trusting that You are able to do what seems impossible.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Before You Go
Daniel’s life can seem extraordinary at first glance. To live in such a way that even his enemies could not find fault might feel far beyond what we are capable of.
But Daniel’s story is not meant to discourage us. It is meant to remind us what God can do in a life that seeks Him faithfully.
Daniel did not rely on his own strength. He prayed. He trusted God. He remained consistent in his devotion even when it became dangerous. Over time, that faithfulness shaped the integrity that others could see.
As believers, we have something Daniel could only look forward to. Through Jesus Christ, we have been given new life and the presence of God working within us. The same Lord who strengthened Daniel is the One who is at work in us today.
So if you ever feel like living uprightly is beyond your reach, remember this. God does not call you to do it alone. As you seek Him, pray, and walk in obedience, He forms that character in you.
Faithfulness grows one step at a time, and God is faithful to complete the work He has begun.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
