Let God’s Word Shape You
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Deuteronomy 6:6–7 (KJV)
“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”
Reflection
Sunday is here. The day where many people slow down, gather together, and focus on spiritual things. It’s a day where we hear Scripture, worship, and feel more centered. Some who don’t attend church still try to honor Sunday by living a little differently, maybe by being kinder or quieter, even if just for a few hours.
But what about the other days?
Deuteronomy 6 isn’t just a call to remember God’s commands. It’s a call to live them out consistently. God’s Word isn’t reserved for Sunday. It’s meant to be carried with us, impressed on our hearts, and woven into our everyday moments—morning, noon, and night.
Everyone who knows me personally knows how much I love coffee. At one point in my life, that’s all I talked about. I could break down beans, regions, brewing processes—you name it. But at some point, I had to ask myself: Do people know I love Christ like they know I love coffee?
This passage doesn’t mean we need to quote scripture loudly in the grocery store or preach in the waiting room. But it does show how important it is to let God’s Word shape you every day. In the way we speak, in the way we listen, in how we parent, love, lead, and serve.
The people around us are listening, even when we’re not preaching. What will our conversations reveal?
Today's Prayer
Father, thank You for Your Word. Let it take root in my heart and shape how I speak and live every day, not just on Sunday. Help me reflect You in the ordinary moments. Let others see my love for Christ more clearly than any passion or hobby I have. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Before You Go
We naturally talk about what we love. Whether it's a favorite drink, a funny story, or a personal passion, our words reflect our hearts. If we want others to see Christ in us, then our speech should reflect Him too—not in a forced way, but in a way that flows from knowing Him deeply.
When we carry God’s Word every day, our conversations begin to shift. We become people who speak life, truth, and encouragement, even in casual moments. As Romans 10:15 says, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace.” That beauty shows up in everyday believers who speak about God in simple, faithful ways.
Ask yourself: What do people hear from me most often?
Today, be intentional. Let your words reflect the One you love most. Let God’s Word every day shape what comes out of your mouth as much as what lives in your heart.
