Hearing God’s Voice Through His Word – How to Know It’s Him
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

John 10:27 (KJV) – “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
There are a lot of voices in this world—loud, persuasive, sometimes even spiritual-sounding. But not all of them are God. Early on in my walk with the Lord, I learned the importance of making time in His Word a daily priority. Not out of duty, but out of need. I needed to know what His voice really sounded like, because so many others were claiming to speak for Him. Reading Scripture consistently has helped me with hearing God’s voice through His Word and recognizing the real from the counterfeit.
God’s Word is more than text on a page—it’s alive. And through it, He speaks. Whether it's correction, encouragement, wisdom, or comfort, the Word reveals His heart, His character, and His will. The more time we spend in it, the more we begin to recognize when He’s truly speaking—because His voice will never contradict His Word.
Hebrews 1:1–2 reminds us that God, who spoke in various ways in times past, now speaks through His Son. And Jesus—the living Word—is reflected in every page of Scripture. So if you ever find yourself wondering if God is speaking, open your Bible. He already has.
There’s something peaceful about starting your day with His voice instead of the noise of the world. And when we allow Scripture to shape how we think, respond, and live, it becomes more than a reading habit—it becomes a lifeline.
A Prayer for Today
Lord, thank You for speaking to us through Your Word. In a world filled with opinions and noise, help me to hear You clearly. Give me discernment to recognize Your voice above all others. Create in me a hunger for Your Word and open my understanding as I read. Let Your truth take root in my heart, and guide me daily by it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Before You Go…
Ask yourself: whose voice are you tuning into the most? Set aside some quiet time today to read a passage from Scripture and really listen. Let God’s truth be the loudest voice in your life.
And if this encouraged you, why not share it with a friend who might be struggling to discern God’s voice? Sometimes we just need a reminder that His Word is already speaking—we just need to open it.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
