God's Plans Cannot Be Stopped
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Job 42:2 (ESV)
"I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted."
Reflection
Littered across TV screens in the 80s were many popular teachings that linked every hardship to personal failure. Suffering meant you lacked faith or had sinned. Can those things be true? Sometimes. But more often than not, we just don't know. Just like Job’s friends, who made statements that sounded right, many people speak confidently about what they don’t truly understand.
Job had lost everything, and his friends were sure they had figured out the reason. But they were wrong. Only God knew the purpose behind Job’s suffering. And the same is true for us. God’s plans are not always revealed to us in this life. Personally, I still don’t fully know what God’s earthly plan for me looks like. I know His eternal plan—reconciliation through Christ. That has been made clear. But His day-to-day workings? The reasons behind delays, trials, or detours? Those are often hidden.
Still, like Job, I do know this: God’s unstoppable plans will always come to pass. His will is never frustrated. His Spirit within me is proof. He is correcting, guiding, and convicting. Even when it’s painful. Even when I don’t see the benefit right away.
You might be in a place right now where you’re grappling with unanswered questions, delayed dreams, or difficult trials. Take heart. God is still working. His plans are moving forward, even if they’re hidden for a time. He is not finished.
Today's Prayer
Father, I thank You that no plan of Yours can be stopped. Even when I don’t understand what You are doing, help me trust that You are still working for my good and Your glory. Strengthen my heart when the road feels uncertain. Guide me by Your Spirit, and teach me to rest in the truth that Your will cannot be thwarted. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Before You Go
God doesn’t ask us to understand everything. He asks us to trust Him. Job’s life reminds us that even when suffering comes, we are held by a God who sees the end from the beginning. His plan for you may not be fully clear right now. But He’s not making it up as He goes. His plans are sure, and they cannot fail.
Reflect:
Is there an area of your life where you’ve been trying to understand instead of trust?
How has God reminded you recently that He is still in control?
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
