God Rejoices Over You
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV)
"The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing."
Reflection
When I think of rejoicing, I usually picture a celebration — a wedding day, a child graduating, or someone finally getting the job they prayed for. Joy often feels tied to big, life-changing moments.
But I’ve never really equated rejoicing with God. Not until I came across this verse.
Zephaniah tells us that God is not only near to His people, but that He rejoices over them. He sings over them. He rests in His love. This is not a quiet, distant affection. It is a deep, joyful, active love.
Throughout Scripture, we see glimpses of this. The Father rejoices like a shepherd who finds a lost sheep. Like a father welcoming his prodigal son. Like a bridegroom delighting in his bride. And this same joy is found in Jesus too.
Hebrews tells us that Jesus endured the cross “for the joy that was set before Him.” That joy was not just about returning to heaven, it was also about redeeming us. His joy is in saving. His joy is in us.
That is hard to take in some days, especially when we feel small, unnoticed, or unworthy. But the truth is this: God rejoices over you. He does not just tolerate you. He treasures you.
There is comfort in knowing that the God who created everything finds joy in calling me His. And not just today, but for all eternity.
I can rest in His love, because He rejoices over me. And He rejoices over you too.
Today's Prayer
Lord, thank You for loving me with a rejoicing love. Thank You for being near, for saving me, and for singing over me. I do not always feel worthy of this kind of love, but I receive it with gratitude. Help me rest in it today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Before You Go
God rejoices over you not with silence, but with singing. He takes joy in loving you and being near to you.
Have you ever paused to consider how God feels about you? Do you believe that He delights in you, even on the days when you feel weak or unworthy?
Let this truth reshape how you see yourself today. You are not overlooked. You are not barely accepted. You are rejoiced over, deeply and eternally.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
