Safe in His Presence
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Psalm 32:7 (KJV)
“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.”
Reflection
There’s something tender and powerful about calling God a hiding place. It isn’t just a poetic phrase. It’s a real promise. Life can be loud, chaotic, and honestly, overwhelming. And lately, I’ve been thinking more deeply about what it means to have God as my hiding place.
It doesn’t always mean I’m physically removed from trouble. Often, it means that in the middle of trouble, He covers me. While the world rages, He still gives peace. While the noise increases, He becomes my stillness. When fear or weariness presses in, His presence becomes my shelter.
That’s what David was declaring in this psalm. God is not just a temporary escape. He’s a surrounding presence, a safe place that never fails. He preserves. He protects. He even surrounds us with songs of deliverance, victory that sings over fear.
And we see this most clearly in Jesus.
In Christ, we have a refuge that is eternal. His arms are open when the world closes in. His voice speaks calm when life feels unstable. He took on our greatest dangers, sin and death, and conquered them at the cross. Because of Him, no matter what happens around us, we can rest safely within.
When you say, “God is my hiding place,” you’re not running from reality. You’re running to the only One strong enough to carry you through it.
Today's Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my hiding place. Thank You for covering me in the middle of what I cannot control. Help me to run to You when I feel overwhelmed and to trust that You are my peace and my deliverer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Before You Go
You don’t need to wait for everything to calm down to find peace. If you belong to Christ, your hiding place is already secure. Run to Him, rest in Him, and let Him surround you with songs of deliverance.
Ask yourself: When fear rises or life presses in, where do I run first?
Today, turn to Jesus. He is your refuge, your shelter, your hiding place. He is faithful to preserve you and give you peace.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
