Be Ready for Christ Return
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
— Revelation 16:15 (KJV)
Reflection
Every day when I leave and every night before bed, I make sure all the doors and windows are shut and locked. To be completely transparent, even when I’m at home, I keep all the doors locked. Thieves are bold these days, and you just never know when they’re going to show up. I love the analogy that Jesus uses here in Revelation 16:15. Thieves don’t announce their arrival. They don’t send a message ahead of time to warn you. They come unexpectedly, prowling and waiting for the right moment to strike.
But here, Christ tells us He is coming as a thief. While He comes unexpectedly, He is giving us an important message: be prepared, be ready. He’s not coming to catch us off guard because He wants us to be unprepared; He’s giving us a warning ahead of time. Just as I lock my doors and windows to ensure nothing catches me by surprise, Jesus is urging us to keep our lives ready for His return.
He tells us to keep our garments ready. The garments symbolize our righteousness in Him. If we’re not watchful, if we aren’t diligent, we might find ourselves spiritually “naked,” exposed in our shame. We are called to live with our garments, our lives, ready and without spot, looking forward to His return.
We should live lives that are prepared, not slacking, not waiting until the last minute, but actively living out our faith and being vigilant. Jesus has warned us. His return is sure, and we should be ready to meet Him at any moment.
Today's Prayer
Lord, thank You for the reminder to stay prepared for Your return. Help me to live each day with vigilance, keeping my life ready for when You come. May I not grow slack but continue to live for You, honoring You in every way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Before You Go
Think about how you can keep your spiritual life prepared and ready for Christ’s return. Are there areas where you need to be more vigilant or more intentional in your faith? Let this reminder stir you to live each day with a heart that is ready to meet Him, not in fear, but in eager expectation of His glorious return.
