Reassuring Back-to-School Prayer for Protection and Safety

Back-to-School Prayer Series
Simple, heartfelt prayers to start the school year with peace, faith, and focus.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
Psalm 121:7
Let’s Talk About It
These are very difficult times indeed, and as our children return to school, one of our greatest concerns is their safety. We know we cannot sit beside them in every classroom or walk every hallway to be their personal guard. But there are other safety concerns beyond the physical. Emotional and spiritual protection are just as vital.
Are our children being treated with kindness? Are they valued? Are they being taught lessons that align with truth? These questions sit heavy on our hearts.
And what about the administration? Christian educators are often walking into the same spiritual battles. They carry the weight of responsibility while needing refuge and wisdom themselves.
This is a moment to pray for protection on every level,
for our children, for those who lead them, and for the atmosphere of every school building.
Prayer for Parents and Children
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You are our shield, our refuge, and our hiding place. I lift up my child to You and ask that You cover them with Your protection. Guard them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Keep them safe on the bus, in the car, walking, or however they travel to and from school. Let no harm come near them, and guide them away from confusion and fear.
When I begin to worry, remind me that You are near. I pray for peace to fill their heart and mine. Be their shield and strength throughout this school year.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer from the Heart of a School Administrator
Lord,
I come to You as a leader and servant, entrusted with the care of so many young lives. I ask for Your covering over this school, its classrooms, and its people. Let this be a place of safety and peace.
For every teacher and staff member, be their hiding place and strength. For every child, surround them with angels and wisdom. For every decision, may Your guidance be clear. I cannot carry this alone. Be our help and our refuge.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Keep This in Mind
The Lord is not only able to protect, He promises to preserve the soul. Trust Him with your children today, and pray for every heart inside the school building.
Tomorrow, we will pray for friendship and kindness to flourish in our children’s lives.
