The Power of Small Acts of Obedience
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Luke 16:10 (NLT)
“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”
Reflection
Everyone loves a rags-to-riches story—the kind where someone experiences an overnight transformation. But what we don’t often see are the small, consistent steps it took to get there. The world often skips over the process in favor of the highlight reel. We see this mindset show up in fad diets, get-rich-quick schemes, or sudden success stories that leave out the grit behind the scenes.
That kind of thinking can quietly slip into our spiritual lives, too. We start looking for big spiritual moments or grand callings—while overlooking the importance of being faithful in the small.
But Jesus sees things differently. He reminds us that even the smallest acts of obedience matter.
Obedience isn’t always flashy. Sometimes it’s choosing not to gossip. Sometimes it’s stopping to pray instead of reacting. Sometimes it’s cleaning up when no one’s watching or being kind to someone who never returns it.
It may feel insignificant, but God honors the quiet yes.
The verse in Luke tells us that if we’re faithful in little things, we will also be faithful in big ones. That means the everyday, unseen choices we make shape the character we carry into greater responsibilities. God uses small steps to prepare us for bigger ones. These are the moments that build character, reveal faith, and prepare us for what’s next.
If you’ve been feeling like what you’re doing doesn’t matter—don’t believe that lie. Stay faithful. Your small acts of obedience are seen, valued, and multiplied by the God who sees it all.
Today's Prayer
Lord, help me not to overlook the small things You ask of me. Remind me that every act of obedience matters, even when no one sees it. Teach me to be faithful in the little so I’m ready for the big. Use my yes today to shape my walk with You tomorrow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Before You Go
We live in a world that celebrates fast results and big moments—but that’s not usually how God works. He values consistency over shortcuts. So today, choose one small act of obedience. It may feel ordinary, but it’s the kind of faithfulness God uses to build something lasting. Don’t despise the process—lean into it.
Did you miss it? Don’t worry—you can still catch up.
