When God Feels Silent
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Today's Scripture
Psalm 77:7 (NLT)
“Has the Lord rejected me forever? Will he never again be kind to me?”
Reflection
There is something beautiful about when life feels easy, when everything seems to fall into place without struggle. But when life becomes hard, our hearts naturally turn to God in prayer. We ask, we cry, and we wait. Yet after a time, when nothing seems to change, it can feel as though God has cast us off.
Psalm 77 captures this emotion so well. The Psalmist cries out through sleepless nights, pouring out his heart in pain and confusion. I can relate to that feeling of praying and feeling unheard, wondering where God is in the silence. But what stands out is what happens next. The Psalmist shifts his focus from despair to remembrance. He begins to recall the mighty works of God, how He brought Israel safely through the wilderness, how His power was shown even in impossible circumstances.
This reminds me that God’s silence does not mean His absence. He is always working, even in our struggles. When the nights feel long and our hearts feel heavy, we can take comfort in knowing that the same God who parted the Red Sea is the same God who walks with us now. His love and mercy are unchanging.
If you are in a season where God feels silent, hold on to this truth: He has not rejected you. His hand is still guiding you, even when you cannot see it. Sometimes faith means trusting that His unseen work will soon be seen in your life.
Today's Prayer
Father, when I feel like You are silent, help me to remember Your past faithfulness. Remind me of Your mighty works, both in Scripture and in my own life. Strengthen my heart to trust that You are near, even when I cannot feel Your presence. Thank You for never rejecting me and for always working for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Before You Go
If you are walking through a season of silence, let Psalm 77 be your reminder that God has not forgotten you. Reflect on the ways He has shown His faithfulness before, and trust that He is doing the same now. He is still the God who redeems, restores, and leads His people through every wilderness.
