Today's Scripture

“That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this.”
—Amos 9:12

Reflection

God’s plan for the salvation of the world and how He orchestrates it always puts me in awe. How He fulfills His promises to His people, and He’s not finished yet.

All throughout the Old Testament, we get glimpses of what God is doing. His plan unfolds little by little, and He is always faithful to His word. From the Covenant God made with Abraham to bless the nations and be the father of many, the promise was set in motion. Abraham’s descendants were to be numerous, and through them, God would bless the nations.

Israel was the chosen people through whom the Gospel would be brought to the world. Yet, many rejected Christ when He came. So the message of salvation went out to the Gentiles, as we see in Romans 11, where Paul describes how the Gentiles were grafted into the tree of God’s promises. What was once a message for Israel alone became one for the whole world, and God used the Gentiles to provoke Israel to jealousy and to bring them back to Him.

Ultimately, the story ends with all of humanity reconciled to God. Every nation, every people group, coming together as one tree, receiving God’s ultimate promise of salvation. This is the beauty of God’s plan—the reconciliation of all people to God through Christ, who makes it possible for both Jews and Gentiles to become one family.

And even today, God is still using His people to carry out this plan. He uses us to share the Gospel, to bring others into His family, and to remind the world that His promises are true, that He desires all people to come to Him.

Today's Prayer

Lord, thank You for forgiving me again and again. I know I’ve messed up, and yet You still offer mercy. Help me to forgive others the same way. Take any bitterness out of my heart. Show me how to love with patience, grace, and truth. I want to live like You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Before You Go

God’s plan of reconciliation has been revealed through Christ and will be completed at His return. Through Christ, Jews and Gentiles are made one in Him. We are part of that story, and we are called to share that message with the world.

Ask yourself: How am I participating in God’s plan to reconcile all people to Himself?
Today, reflect on your place in God’s story. Ask Him to show you how you can be a part of His work in bringing others to Him.
