Trusting God's Timing
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.

Key Scripture:
Isaiah 60:22 (NLT) – “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
Reflection
I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time waiting. I wish I could say I’ve mastered patience, but truthfully, I haven’t. Not even close. And if I’m being really honest, trusting God’s timing is one of the biggest challenges in my walk with Him.
There have been so many moments when I’ve prayed and expected answers right away. And when they didn’t come? I worried. I tried to “help” God along. I’ve cried. I’ve doubted. But over the years, one thing I’ve seen again and again is that even when things feel slow to me, God is never late. He moves when the time is right—His right.
This verse in Isaiah is at the end of a chapter filled with promises about restoration, beauty, and hope. And I love how it ends, like a divine exhale: “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” Not if, not maybe. He will. That reminder settles something in me. God isn’t rushing. He’s not forgetting. He’s working things out in the perfect timing that my impatient heart can’t always grasp.
And while I’m learning to trust Him in the waiting here and now, I also find deep hope in waiting on His eternal promises. Isaiah 60 isn’t just about what God will do in our day-to-day—it’s about the big picture, too. The restoration of His people, the fulfillment of His covenant, the glory of His name being known across the earth. From the very beginning, God has spoken, and His words have never fallen flat. They still ring true. When I look back at Scripture, I can see how His promises have unfolded over time—just like He said. And that reminds me: if He’s been faithful to fulfill every word before, He won’t stop now. His promises—both for today and for eternity—are secure.
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father,
I admit it’s hard to wait. It’s hard to trust when I don’t see what’s ahead or understand what You’re doing. But I know You are faithful. I know Your timing is perfect. Help me to rest in that. Remind me that You are not slow, and that every delay is filled with purpose. Teach me to wait with hope, not fear. Thank You for the promises You’ve kept—and the ones You still will. I trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Just Before You Go
If waiting has felt discouraging lately, I hope this reminder lifts your heart. God’s timing may stretch our faith, but it’s never wrong. And the beautiful thing is—this promise in Isaiah finds its fulfillment in Jesus. Through Him, we’ve already received the greatest promise of all: salvation, hope, and eternal life. So while we wait, we do so with full assurance that God keeps every word. And when the time is right—He will make it happen.
