God's Faithfulness in Times of Change

Faithful and Unchanging

I am a person who loves routine. Don’t get me wrong, I can be spontaneous, but for the most part, I am in constant mode—prayer in the morning, followed by coffee, and the list goes on. If something interrupts my usual routine, I become frazzled. There’s comfort in the steady, in the predictable. It’s easy to feel secure when we know what to expect each day, but life doesn’t always work that way. And in those moments when change comes crashing in, I’ve had to remind myself that while my routine may change, God never does. He is the constant, the steady, the unshakable truth in my life. In those uncertain seasons, I’ve learned to rest in God’s faithfulness in times of change.

Scripture

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) – “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

Change is part of life. Seasons shift, people come and go, plans fall through, and routines get disrupted. Sometimes that change brings excitement, but other times it brings confusion, anxiety, and even sorrow. But in all of life’s transitions, Hebrews 13:8 gives us a powerful anchor—Jesus Christ does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

This truth is more than comforting—it’s transformational. When everything around us feels unstable, we don’t have to be tossed around by doubt or fear. We can hold fast to the One who never shifts. He was faithful in the past, He is faithful now, and He will be faithful in the future.

Insight

Today, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by changes in your life—whether big or small—remember that God remains the same. Take a moment to reflect on His faithfulness in your past. Remind yourself of prayers He’s answered and ways He’s sustained you. Then, lean into that same faithfulness today. Make space for prayer in the midst of your changes, even if it’s messy. Trust that the God who brought you this far isn’t going anywhere.

Today's Prayer

Lord, thank You that in a world full of change, you are the same. Help me to rest in Your unchanging nature when everything else feels uncertain. Remind me of Your faithfulness in every season and let me find peace knowing that You are steady, trustworthy, and always near. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
