God’s Word is never bound, even in the toughest times. The open Bible reflects the enduring truth and power of scripture, unshaken by circumstances.

Today's Scripture

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
— Colossians 3:13 (KJV)

Reflection

A few years ago, I started a podcast, and I have to tell you, even without video, I still had great nerves. I don’t do well with public speaking, even around people I know. It’s like a heated lamp has been placed over me, and every thought evaporates out of my mind. I’ve taken 20 takes just to get one podcast message right. But despite the fear and the nerves, I was determined to persevere.

So, when I read 2 Timothy 2:9, I thought to myself: What do I have to be afraid of? Here was Paul, imprisoned like a criminal, shackled for the gospel. Paul had been beaten, thrown in prison, and yet he was still proclaiming the Word of God. He tells Timothy that though he may be bound physically, God’s Word is never bound.

That is so encouraging. Despite all the suffering Paul endured, he knew that the power of God’s Word cannot be confined. Even after all these years, we still have the scriptures. The Word of God has endured through centuries, through trials, through persecution, and changes in culture. Even if your pastor retires or you move to a new location, the Word of God remains the same, alive and active. Isaiah 40:8 says, “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.”

No matter the challenges, no matter the fears, we have a message that transcends time and circumstances. The Word of God endures, and as believers, we have the privilege of holding it in our hands, carrying it with us, and sharing it with others.

Today's Prayer

Lord, I thank You for Your Word that stands forever. When I feel afraid or uncertain, remind me that Your truth is unshakable. Just as Paul boldly declared Your Word despite his circumstances, help me to do the same. Fill me with courage and strength to share the gospel, knowing that no trial or fear can bind Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Before You Go

Are there areas in your life where fear is holding you back from sharing God’s Word or walking in your calling? Remember that no matter the trials or struggles, God’s Word is not bound. It is alive and has the power to transform hearts. Trust in its power and let it work through you today.
