Psalm 71:6 (KJV)
-By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
Reflection
It is so easy to get, as they say, lost in the weeds. Most days, I feel like there is never enough time to do everything I need and want to do. I’m sure you can relate. We tend to focus on what’s pressing, especially when troubles arise. We cry out to God, trusting that He will deliver us, and He is always faithful, seeing us through each and every trial of life.
But what about the things we don’t always notice, the things that go unthanked or unrecognized? Part of my morning prayer is to give thanks and praise for the new day. I don’t take it for granted. I try my best to acknowledge His mercies every morning, but God did not just sustain me today, He has been faithful in ways I often overlook.
And when I take a moment to reflect on this truth, I realize that His faithfulness goes much deeper than just the present moment.
The Psalmist in Psalm 71:6 praises God for His sustaining hand from the very beginning of life. He remembers that God held him up from his mother’s womb, providing for him before he could even understand it. Just as the Psalmist praised and acknowledged God’s faithfulness from birth, we too can look back and see how God has sustained us—through every moment of our lives. If you’re reading this right now, He has been your support, your rock, from the moment you rested in your mother’s womb.
That is so comforting to me. God has been faithful to us, not just in our troubles but in every season, long before we even knew what we needed. He has been our constant support. And knowing that God has been with us from the very beginning can give us peace today and strength for tomorrow. He has not abandoned us, and He never will.
Today's Prayer
Lord, thank You for sustaining me from the very beginning. You’ve been my support and my rock since I was in my mother’s womb. Help me to remember Your faithfulness in all things, even in the moments I may not notice. May my praise be continually offered to You, for You are the One who has carried me through it all. In Jesus' name, Amen.

How can you acknowledge and thank God today for His constant support from the very beginning?
