Nothing Is Hidden from God

Daily Devotional
Be encouraged by today’s Scripture reflection and prayer.
Black and white image of a man hiding his face with one hand and raising his other hand to shield himself, symbolizing that God sees every deed.
Even what we try to hide is known to God. He sees every deed and judges with perfect justice and mercy.

Today's Scripture

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 (KJV)

Reflection

Think about your favorite person in the entire world. Usually, it’s someone close. A parent, a spouse, a child, or a dear friend. If someone questioned their character, we would be the first to stand up and defend them. But the truth is, no matter how close we are to someone, we never really know them completely.

And the same is true of us. There may be parts of our story—our past or even our present—that no one else sees or understands. But God knows. God sees every deed, not just the public ones but also the quiet ones, the hidden ones, the ones we’ve tried to forget.

He is a just judge because only He sees the full picture. He knows what was done, why it was done, and what was in our hearts when it happened. No detail is missed with Him.

I can look back on moments in my life when I didn’t think about God at all during my decisions. I didn’t acknowledge Him during the sin. And if I couldn’t see Him, I convinced myself that maybe He couldn’t see me either. But that was never true. The Creator of heaven and earth sees it all. He saw me then. He sees me now.

That thought used to scare me. But now, it humbles me. Because not only does God see the sin, He also sees the repentance. He sees the growth. He sees the effort. And He sees the heart that is slowly being made new.

And just as He sees what is wrong, He also sees what is good. The small acts of kindness no one thanks you for. The quiet prayers for someone else's healing. The generous giving done in secret. The forgiveness you chose even when it hurt. None of it is forgotten. God sees every deed, and He rewards the good done in His name.

This verse isn’t just about judgment. It’s about accountability. It reminds us that our lives are lived before the eyes of a holy and loving God. And that should shape how we live, how we love, and how we respond to the choices we make in the quiet.

Today's Prayer

Lord, thank You for knowing me fully. Nothing is hidden from You, and yet You still love me. Help me to live with awareness of Your presence and the weight of my choices. Let me honor You not just when others are watching but in every quiet moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Before You Go

Have you ever lived like God wasn’t looking?

Today is a good day to return to the truth that He sees it all. And He sees it with perfect justice and perfect mercy. Every hidden act, every whispered word, every choice made in the dark, God sees every deed.

Let that truth shape your steps. Let it bring you back to repentance where needed. And let it reassure you that nothing you do for Him is ever missed.
